The first wine itinerary we have selected is in the northern area of the Marches, region located in the central Italy.

The tour starts from the sea city of Pesaro, in 50 km bring you from the beaches of the Adriatic Coast to the Apennine foothills.

The typical wines in this area are dry red and white, alcohol around 12%. Among them, Bianchello del Metauro, a DOC wine mostly produced on the hills running along the Metauro river banks. Dry wine, with straw yellow color and a delicate aroma of fresh fruits, the Bianchello del Metauro has to be served at 49° - 53° F (10° - 12 ° Celsius) and is perfect to be coupled with roasted fish dishes.

- Food

The Adriatic is generous in providing the fresh seafood which is the base for the most typical local recipes. The inland part of the itinerary is famous for the truffle, so you can find it in many dishes; also don’t miss a specialty from Urbino: the Passatelli, something similar to the tortellini in brodo.

Urbino-Marches

Pesaro: native city of Rossini, the famous composer.
Fossombrone: the Cathedral.
In Urbino, the town of Raffaello Sanzio, one of the most prominent artists of the Italian Renaissance: Palazzo Ducale, Albornoz fortress, the Cathedral, the Raffaello home, and the several churches (S.Francesco, S.Domenico, S.Bernardino etc…). Urbino is definitively one of the most appreciated historical cities in Italy.
