»» Rome’s Wine Celebrated with Orchids
Frascati Wine celebrates its 40th birthday as a DOC wine (DOC: Denominazione Origine Controllata), among the orchids, in Monte Porzio Catone, surroundings of Rome, from April 21 through 25.

The event, “Orchidee in Centro”, pairs the famed Castelli Romani’s wine with orchids.
Orchid exhibit and wine tasting are scheduled, in this original event.
Businesses cultivating orchids from Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Hungary, Peru, Brasil, and Taiwan will exhibit the best of their production.
A few notes on Frascati Wine:
- Color: White
- Description: Straw yellow
- Type: Dry still, sweet still
- Taste: Either dry, or sweet, soft, sapid, and harmonious.
- Aroma: Delicate, with characteristic aroma.
- Alcohol: 11% - 13%
- Aging: Up to two years, standing.
- Temperature: Serve at 49° Fahrenheit, 10° Celsius.
- Best paired with: especially suggested for seafood, soups; the dry variety. Egg dishes, white meat, frogs; the sweet variety is ideal with dessert.
Frascati wine is a DOC wine since1966; its production area is the typical volcanic soil of the Colli Albani (Alban Hills), south of Rome.
