»» Wine Tasting and Classical Music in Chianti, Tuscany

The wonderful medieval village of San Donato in Poggio, located in Tuscany, in one of the major Chianti growing zones, hosts the fifth edition of “Chianti in Musica” festival from July 24th to July 31st.

Located in the heart of Chianti, midway from both Florence and Siena, with “Chianti in Musica” San Donato in Poggio offers a week of tastings of the fine red wine produced in the Chianti region accompaned by a number of classical music concerts as well as by culinary and wine theme events.

»» Wine sampling in Rome in June at Vinoforum

For two weeks in June, Rome is celebrating wine and Italian cuisine traditions.

Vinoforum, is a major wine event also including events dedicated to olive oil and gourmet.

A wine village has been created for the event, in the gardens between Lungotevere Maresciallo Diaz and Viale del ministero degli Affari Esteri.
Vinoforum features around 2,500 wine labels from over 500 wineries.

Wine sampling as well as gourmet tasting sessions guided by Associazione Italiana Sommeliers (Ais) and Athenaeum dei Sapori are scheduled during these two weeks.

»» Cantine Aperte:Wineries Open to Public in Italy

With “Cantine Aperte” festival, nearly a thousand of wineries in Italy are open to the public the last-week-end of May.

They will be offering tasting sessions, shows and many more entertaining wine-themed events.

It is estimated more six million wine enthusiasts will be visiting wineries throughout Italy during this Wine Weekend.

Italy’s Wine Tourism Movement has a website www.movimentoturismovino.it, which offers advice on how to locate wineries joining the current edition of “Cantine Aperte”.

 
 

»» Weeks of Wines in Siena, Tuscany

Le Settimane dei Vini” — Weeks of Wines — offers a number of wine themed events held in late May and in June — from May 23 through June 19 –, in the city of Siena, Tuscany.

Siena

The historic city of Siena, is situated in one of the major wine production zones in Italy, boasting the likes of “Brunello di Montalcino”, “Nobile di Montepuciano”, just to name a few.

On May 23, the first of a number of wine sampling sessions named “Happy wine con i vini del Vigneto Italia“, is scheduled in Siena at Bastione S. Francesco (h. 6-8 PM). It will be offering a tasting of selected wines paired with chocolate delicacies.
