Apples and wine for this week-end in Valtellina, famous alpine valley located in northern Lombardy.
The village of Villa di Tirano will celebrate grape and apple, the two typical major produce of the area, with the “Sagra della mela e dell’uva” — Grape & Apple Festival. ÂÂ

A chance to better know the excellent local wines.
Among the most known and appreciated wines from Valtellina, we suggest Valtellina and Valtellina Superiore.
They are red ( ruby red for the Valtellina Superiore), dry still wines, with a velvety and harmonious taste, an persistent and characteristic aroma.
Ideal to accompany boiled meats and roasted white meat — the Valtellina, roasted red meat — the Valtellina Superiore.
The production area is in the Sondrio province, on steep slopes on the banks of the Adda river, Northern Lombardy. See map of Valtellina.
